BrushRanker covers 53 electric toothbrushes from 9 makers, and it starts from a sum the box never does for you: the handle, plus a new head every few months for years.
Why the heads come first
Two brushes with the same handle price can cost very different amounts to keep using, because makers price heads anywhere from about $3 to $10 each. So every brush here is priced over three years, with heads at the maker’s own pack price, and the catalog is ordered by that figure. On 26 of the 50 brushes where it can be worked out, the heads cost more than the handle. The method is written out in full.
A blank is an answer
Every figure comes from the maker’s own product page, spec sheet or store, and every brush page links to those sources, 138 of them across the catalog. Where a maker does not publish a number for that exact model, the cell is empty rather than borrowed from a sibling. That is why 175 cells are blank today: a speed Oral-B never prints for its US range, a battery life most iO pages skip, a head pack a newer brand doesn’t sell yet. The blank is the finding.
Health claims
Toothbrushes touch on health, so the rule here is simple: the site makes no health claim of its own. What a maker says about plaque or whitening is quoted as the maker’s claim, and the explainers cite the Cochrane reviews and ADA guidance they rely on, including what that evidence does not show. None of it is advice for your mouth; that is your dentist’s job.
Who is behind it, and who is not
Two people build and maintain this in their own time. There is no office, no editorial staff, no dentist on staff and no test lab, and nothing here was measured by us. No maker pays for a place in the catalog, a position in a list or a word on its page. What the site collects is one analytics tag and one browser key holding your filters.
Owner experience, kept separate
Some things only show up after months of use: a battery that fades, an app that stops pairing, a head that rattles. Where public owner discussion was read for a model it sits in its own section under its own heading, never blended into the specification copy. Coverage is 4 of 53; the other pages say so rather than showing an empty block.
How often this changes
The catalog was last refreshed on 2026-09-30, and that date drives the sitemap. Each refresh re-checks that every brush is still sold new on its maker’s US store, because ranges turn over quickly: Philips’ ProtectiveClean and ExpertClean lines, long the default Sonicare recommendations, were out of stock or support-only on philips.com when this catalog was built.
